“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:19-20

Eight Ways to SHOW UP!

  1. Corporate worship
Each week during our corporate worship gathering, we will have a time designated for prayer. At the start of the worship service, during the 5 minute countdown, we will ask you to spend time in prayer, preparing for worship. We are asking that you enter the sanctuary reverently, as there will be people praying. We will also give you time following the message to respond in prayer.

  2. Prayer meeting
We are strongly encouraging every one of our members to make a sincere effort to join us for prayer meeting on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 for a meal and 5:30-6:15 for joint prayer. Our prayer team will be leading us in prayer in a variety of ways each week, and your presence is important for your own spiritual well-being as well as to edify your brothers and sisters in Christ.

  3. Personal prayer & fasting
During this season of prayer, you will be given a daily scripture and prayer prompts for your own devotional time. We are asking that you make a genuine commitment to follow along with the rest of the church family in daily prayer, as well as fasting once per week for the sake of the lost in our community. We encourage you to begin your fast on Tuesday AFTER supper and break the fast at supper on Wednesday night. During your time of fasting, let your hunger remind you to pray for all those who are lost without Jesus.

  4. Small group prayer
Each of our members is encouraged to organize a small prayer group of friends and members of your Sunday School class for a time of weekly prayer. You can meet at the church, or at a home, or even at a coffee shop for prayer and support. Some of you will take the initiative to form these groups, so we are asking that you also consider those who may not be as outgoing and invite them to join you each week.

  5. E4 (for the next generation)
On Sunday nights in October (10 & 17) we will be hosting our final E4 training for the year, addressing the challenges, needs, and opportunities in reaching the next generation for Christ. They are known as Generation Z, and they are the largest and most unreached generation in our history. We need to learn about how to reach them and spend time praying for them. Please join us on Sunday nights to lift up our young adults, youth, and children that they might know and serve the Lord.

  6. Daily prayer downtown
Every weekday (Monday – Friday) during these 21 days, we will have the church sanctuary open for prayer. You are invited to come to the “house of prayer” any time and spend some time reflecting on God’s Word and work in your life. There will be a staff member in the sanctuary from 11:00 to 1:00 daily to pray with you and counsel with you if needed.

  7. Downtown prayer walk
On Saturday, October 23 at 9:30 AM we will gather at FBC for a downtown prayer walk/ride. We will be walking and praying for downtown businesses, government, and residents, asking for God’s blessing in leading us to reach them. We will also have teams of prayer “riders” who may not be able to walk, but who can carpool and pray for the neighborhoods around us.

  8. Prayer Celebration Service
On Sunday, October 24 we will hold a prayer celebration service during our morning worship gathering. This service will be dedicated to prayer, scripture, song, and fellowship. Following the worship time, we will gather in the fellowship hall for a potluck lunch. Please join us for this exciting day.
