Prayer Ministry

Jesus said,
"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do,
that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
John 14:13  (NKJ)

First Baptist Church is a praying church.  We feel that prayer must undergird all aspects of a Christian's life and of the church. The purpose of the FBC Prayer Ministry is to encourage members to grow in loving fellowship with the Heavenly Father through a meaningful life of prayer.  Our desire is to become more like Christ and to glorify the Father in our personal and church life as we surrender to His will and make our requests known in the Name of Jesus.

The Prayer Ministry of First Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, seeks to follow the teaching of Jesus and to lead God's people into a life of prayer that builds up the Church, individually and corporately, and that accomplishes God's purposes and brings glory to Him at home and around the world.

There are numerous opportunities for everyone to participate in the FBC Prayer Ministry, whether it is Prayer Walking before Sunday School, using the e-mail Prayer Chain, spending time in the Prayer Room, being involved in a Bible study on prayer, attending a special prayer meeting or joining the Prayer Team which meets for prayer and planning at least once a month.
